Arron’s commitment to art and community

Arron Yarran (Warrajirri – Yarra) is a Nyiyaparli Noongar, Warrajirri, Milanka artist and Waalitj Hub Client, with ancestral ties from Roy Hill/Ethel Creek, Pilbara, and Busselton.
As an artist for over 35 years, Arron’s art encompasses the stories of her people and her own journey being in both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal worlds.
“With all my art, it’s all about healing and the stories I tell”.
In gaining both national and international exposure, Arron’s art has also been showcased nationally in Perth, regional Australia, and internationally in Paris, Germany, Switzerland, and China.
Last year, Arron’s art was featured in the Waalitj Foundation Wangening Bardip (Healing Stories) Art Exhibition held at Central Park Tower in Perth. The exhibition presented an opportunity for First Nations artist to showcase their art and share their healing stories.

For Arron, in addition to being a passionate artist, she has a strong commitment to community engagement. She has worked for over 30 years in the community as artist, teacher and youth worker.
In purposefully collaborating artistically with the community, particularly with youth and elders, Arron conducts workshops, cultural activities, and storytelling sessions through art in various venues across the Perth Metropolitan and Rural area.
