Successful Family-Owned Business

As a proud Woppaburra Woman from the Keppel Islands in Queensland, Marcia Edwards runs her successful family-owned business The Cryogenics Group in Perth.

Being one of the first Waalitj Hub clients when the doors opened in 2020, Marcia said she has gained valuable marketing support from the hub.

Marketing support services provided through the Waalitj Hub has allowed us to target our audience within a niche market,” said Marcia.

The Cryogenics Group supply a variety of gases to a diverse range of clients in the medical, industrial, commercial, and mining sectors.

Marcia’s parents started the business in 1993 in Queensland and the family has steadily and sustainably grown it across Australia. In the last 12 months they have expanded into Western Australia opening a new workshop in the Kwinana area.

“2023 marks our 30th year of operation and I am so proud to see our family business continue to grow and succeed,” said Marcia.

Having recently expanded in WA, Marcia said she has benefited from the great services and networks created by the Waalitj Hub.

“The Waalitj Hub is an excellent space with great facilities and friendly staff.”

“Not only is the hub great for Indigenous business owners but it is also a space for non-indigenous businesses to learn and grow their engagement with the Indigenous business sector in WA,” said Marcia.

General Manager of the Waalitj Hub and Marcia’s business coach Shane Devitt said it has been inspiring to see the business grow in leaps and bounds.

“Visiting The Cryogenics Group office and seeing their impressive facility is a great indication of the success they have seen so far and the prosperous future they have ahead of them.”

“It has been a privilege to play a small part in growing Marcia’s business through connecting her with services and industry links,” said Shane.
