Scholarship Recipients University Success

Suzy is one of our Rockhampton Indigenous Scholarship Program participants. She is a proud IMAM/KULLILLI/WADJA woman studying a Certificate 4 Community Services part-time at Central Queensland University.

Becoming qualified and gaining experience in all areas of community services such as youth and aged care is Suzy’s goal. She also hopes to travel as part of her work.

“Being a part of this Indigenous Scholarship Program has supported me in many ways, like fuel for my car to get me to uni, helping to cover some of my studies fee and my tutor. I was excited to finally be able to purchase a good new laptop too.”

Suzy is one of our ISP participants that is very excited to travel to Brisbane and be part of inaugural Indigenous Scholarship Program Conference.

“It would be a great opportunity for me to network and attend the workshops on the day. I am looking forward to meeting some of the participants and the other mentors from the ISP program,” said Suzy.

The Indigenous Scholarship Program delivered by the Waalitj Foundation in partnership with Shell’s QGC business aims at increasing the number of First Nations Australians with tertiary and trade qualifications.
