Working Hard and Focusing on Studies

My name is Arwa Gulf, and my mobs are Iman and WakkaWakka. I am studying my Certificate III in Work Health Safety as part of my traineeship with Harness Energy Services in Chinchilla.

I am also employed fulltime at Power Tech here locally, which I enjoy. Recently I have made big sacrifices to achieve my goals by moving away from my family home in Rockhampton to be closer to my training facility and job, but I know it’ll all be worth it at the end once I have successfully graduated.

In my spare time to wind down I enjoy catching up with my family and friends, going to the beach, watching footy and I love travelling solo to different places across the country.

“Being part of the Waalitj Foundation Indigenous Scholarship Program has supported me by taking the weight of financial burden off my shoulders and allowing me to work hard and focus on my studies”

The Indigenous Scholarships program is aimed at increasing the number of Indigenous Australians with tertiary and trade qualifications to enhance employment outcomes, with a specific focus in the resources sector.

The Foundation provides mentoring services to support the administration of tertiary and vocational scholarships. The Waalitj Foundation in partnership with Shell’s QGC business is proud to deliver this program.
