Am I ready? Do I have a plan?
This workshop will introduce you to a range of fundamental business concepts, definitions and examples in starting a business. It’s about creating a business mindset in preparing for the real thing.
The second part of the session is designed to up-the-ante and get participants to put their ideas on paper and to start planning it out. Topics include business structures, business model canvas, goal setting and SWOT.
This workshop is free to attend for all First Nations Peoples looking to start a business, or are needing a refresher in basic business concepts and planning.

Black Coffee Australia is a networking connection event for corporate, government, profit and not-for-profit member companies to connect on a regular basis.
It is aimed at maintaining joint collaborations and partnering with other organisations working in the space to incubate and increase networking capacity for all Indigenous Community organisations and Businesses that attend.
This is an informal networking event.

This introductory workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the tendering process, designed for those new to the field or looking to strengthen their foundational knowledge. Starting Strong; An Introduction to Successful Tendering covers key concepts, terminology, and best practices to help participants understand what makes a tender submission effective and competitive.
During this session, attendees will learn about:
• The tendering process, including key stages and terminology
• How to identify relevant tenders and assess suitability
• The essential elements of a winning bid
• Best practices for structuring and presenting tender responses
• Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
Roz will go through practical examples and interactive exercises, participants will gain the confidence and tools to approach future tender opportunities with clarity and purpose.
About your presenter: ProposalPro Principal Roz Misiani is a highly experienced and qualified Proposal and Project Manager, formally trained in government tender evaluation strategies, and educated in commercial law, commerce, marketing and mediation. She is one of only 45 proposal managers across Australasia to be accredited by the Association for Proposal Management Professionals [APMP] to Practitioner Level.
Roz has provided business development, bid management and tender writing services to government and industry since 1998.
Roz has produced hundreds of tenders for a broad range of business entities and government organisations, from small quotes to multi-million-dollar multi-staged submissions. She has experience producing tenders on behalf of prime and subcontractors, joint ventures and consortiums.
This workshop is free to attend for all First Nations Peoples.
